Somerset Medical Center’s 620-member medical staff represents 45 medical and surgical specialties. Many of our physicians hold academic teaching positions at medical schools in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Our medical staff has one of the highest percentages of board-certified physicians among hospitals in New Jersey.

Members of the medical staff practice alongside dedicated nursing, technical and support staff members. Many of our nurses have advanced degrees and are nationally certified in specialty areas such as critical care, basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, chemotherapy and intravenous therapy.
…And A Supportive Executive Team
Medical staff members enjoy a close, cooperative working relationship with the medical center’s executive team and the board of directors. The administration includes a chief medical officer and one-third of the board members are physicians. No major decisions regarding medical center policies or services are made without physician involvement.
